Overview

Flown was a travel technology startup focused on building digital products for road travelers and logistics companies. I joined as a Backend Engineer responsible for designing scalable APIs and real-time services powering multiple applications.

The Challenge

The platform needed to support thousands of users storing travel routes, exchanging messages in real time, and interacting with third-party logistics and payment providers.

The backend had to remain simple to evolve while supporting rapid product development.

My Contributions

Route Management Service

I developed backend services responsible for storing, processing, and retrieving travel routes for more than 50,000 users.

The APIs were optimized for mobile applications where fast response times were critical.

Real-Time Chat

I implemented a WebSocket-based messaging system allowing travelers to communicate instantly inside the application.

The system supported persistent conversations and scalable real-time communication.

Third-Party Integrations

I integrated payment providers and logistics APIs, automating business workflows and reducing manual processing for partner companies.

Backend Design

I participated in database design, authentication, API architecture, and deployment processes while collaborating closely with mobile developers.
